Related: #941

This is a long standing Windows bug; the team made changes in this area years ago (approximately May 13, 2020) and it seems like it's been slightly broken ever since. Compounding matters, there is no feedback channel for developer platform or OS bugs like this.

@AdamBraden I worked with you and Andrew Whitechapel on this feature in the past, any insights here?

@bachig26 Can you try the steps here?

Closing as there's nothing for us to do here, but please keep the discussion going.

Added an issue to track adding some logic to at least detect invalid startup configurations #1433

Let me ask around if there is anything around detection of these registry keys and why they'd get deleted.

fyi - In latest insider builds, we refactored Startup Apps UI to make it easier to see startup registrations and navigate to those apps (either install location for win32 apps, and Settings->Installed Apps for packaged apps).

@bachig26 Did you by any chance run any software/script that "tweaked" the OS or turned off any "bloatware"? Just trying to find a cause, no judgement.

i didn't run any script or app to remove bloatware but I just turned off some services, events manually that taking too much ram or something like that.
