I check the ~/.xsession-errors
. There is some warning.
(nm-applet:671): Gtk-WARNING **: 21:47:52.014: Theme parsing error: gtk.css:22798:24: not a number
(nm-applet:671): Gtk-WARNING **: 21:47:52.015: Theme parsing error: gtk.css:23580:24: not a number
Not only nm-applet
has this problem. My file manager caja
also has this warning.
I use Gruvbox-Dark-BL
theme and gruvbox_dark
icon.
Steps to produce issue:
Try clicking the gear icon next to Network Proxy in Network section of the Settings app and observe the check boxes in front of the proxy modes. I only noticed this in the settings app. Other gtk 4 apps like gnome-text-editor has a similar issue where the blank check-boxes appear but there's no indication of the selected check boxes.
I use gtk2 for qt applications QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME=gtk2
so all qt application look like this in the master
I fix it by temporary checkout c7a8527 then it looks to be expected
running gedit via commandline yields this:
(gedit:7111): libgedit-gtksourceview-WARNING **: 02:03:10.322: Failed to load style scheme file '/home/f16poom/.local/share/gedit/styles': Error on line 4 char 1: element 'style-scheme' requires attribute 'kind'
This baffles me since the theme is just 1 year old, and it has worked on Gedit 44 and 45.
(blueman-applet:615): Gtk-WARNING **: 01:42:16.459: Theme parsing error: gtk.css:6691:68: Invalid name of pseudo-class
I'm using Gruvbox-Dark-BL
Hello there is no issue. I just wanna ask how to keep bluetooth menu in top right quick settings even after turning off bluetooth.
Please tell SIR
Using Adwaita-dark
in GNOME Tweaks makes all the Flatpak applications dark. When I use your theme they default to light theming and, unfortunately, many of the apps do not allow to change the theme...
Is there any way to make Flatpak applications default to dark theming/Adwaita-dark by using this theme?

https://www.reddit.com/r/i3wm/comments/s2oceb/how_can_i_get_rid_of_black_color_behind_the_round/
I have this problem as well and I searched all over the internet for a solution, but I have not found one. Seems like the problem is not window manager or compositor, the problem is in your theme.
I use dwm and picom, and every drop-down menu have that weird black corners.
Thunar, Gajim, Transmission-gtk and others
Actually there is a workaround - put the corner-radius in picom.conf to ~12, then these corners will be hidden, but some people don't want round windows, so it's kinda silly hack
While using certain websites or apps like Geary, while selecting text the highlighting color doesn't show up. It actually does but since the highlighting color is almost white, it's very hard to distinguish what I have selected and what I haven't.
I am using Linux mint 20.3 Cinnamon
Hey!
Thank you for making these icons they look awesome, could you do official KDE version of these?
cheers!
Hi,
almost all icons have the x flag set. Is this by coincidence ? Surely those don't need the executable bit ?
After installing the 2022-11-24 update, when I applied the GTK3 theme in GNOME Tweaks (in the Legacy Applications
field), some apps that use GTK3/4 in some way would either open slowly or just times out and not open at all (e.g. nautilus). In addition, some of these apps would have huge CPU usage for no apparent reason until I killed them.
OS: Arch Linux
Tested variant: Gruvbox-Dark-BL
Some package versions:
gtk2 2.24.33-2
gtk3 1:3.24.35-2
gtk4 1:4.8.2-1
gnome-shell 1:43.1-2
nautilus 43.0-1
gnome-tweaks 42beta+r14+g2d9d76c-2
So I've found that this theme (and presumably your others, though I have yet to test them) seems to break the headerbar items in Libadwaita apps. More specifically, it makes any widgets in the headerbars for these apps unusually tall.
Note that I'm able to theme these apps by putting the gtk.css file for GTK4 in ~/.config/gtk-4.0
. I have yet to see if it has the same effect with non-libadwaita GTK4 apps. I also had to make a few other tweaks in order for Libadwaita apps to properly follow the color scheme. My only changes were just a few color definitions based on this template from the GNOME gitlab
This does seem to be an upstream issue, since this shows up in the Graphite theme, so I don't know if this is something you would want to fix yourself, or if you would want to wait for an upstream fix that you could implement in your themes. I have already opened an issue on the Graphite theme, so it might be a good idea to keep an eye on that as well.
I've also attached three screenshots below demonstrating the issue across your theme and the original Graphite theme, and the properly-sized header bar that the apps use while using Libadwaita.
Looks like there is some kind of issue with the rounded borders, as can be seen below.
OS: Fedora 36
GNOME: Gnome 42.2
I installed the theme by copying the Gruvbox-Dark-BL folder to the ~/.themes/
folder and copying the gtk-Gruvbox-Dark-BL.css to the ~/.config/gtk-4.0/
folder.
There is something wrong with my installation?
In the ping store, it is very confusing to download a theme. There are so many abbreviations by bl, b, bl, light, bl dark. Can you show some screenshot and specify what is the name of that specific version?
This theme is working in Gnome 44, but it has bugs on Quick Settings (located in top right). On VPN and Wireless, for example, the dropdown button is located at the right outside the main button, not inside as intended.
I saw you already made a css theme for gedit. I use the "new" Text Editor most of the time because it has syntax highlighting and a few other nice features over gedit. It already has a few predefined themes, these are located under /usr/share/gnome-text-editor/styles
. I'd appreciate if you could make a custom one with the Gruvbox color scheme for it.
Hi!
Some colors seems to have been mixed up with other themes like the Tokyo-Night-theme in commit 492292e

Thanks for a great theme 👍
This is a great theme!
I am using the Graphite theme, but with minor customizations (such as stronger border for the active window).
So this is how it looks:
And with this GTK Theme (the Dark BL flavor):
Can you address this, please?
Thanks a lot!
Update: I see that Gruvbox-Light version looks good, though. But I definitely prefer the Dark and borderless flavor.
Sadly, the lock screen is set to 'Pop' after setting up everything. Do I need to do something else to set the theme for the lock screen?
Used on Pop!_OS 22.04 (Ubuntu 22.04) with GNOME 42.
I really like your theme. However, I use these icons: They are based on papirus with a gruvbox tint. The upstream seems to be dead. I'd appriciate if you could maybe integrate these into your project and update, if possible.
Cheers
Ok so I wanna use gruvbox without borders.
I shoud install GTK3 and GTK4 theme from folders. GTK4 to ~/.config/gtk-4.0, GTK 3 to ~/.themes/.
What with GTK2, I see a folder with that.
And I use tilling manager like i3-gaps. I don't use Gnome. I shoud use Gruvbox-Dark-BL or Gruvbox-Dark-BL-LB?
Where put GTK2 theme?
Naming shoud be like gruvbox-dark-with-borders and grubvox-dark-without-borders, gruvbox-dark-with-borders-gnome-42+, grubvox-without-borders-gnome-42+
Non technical users, dont know what libadwaita means. They knows i have gnome 42, so i shoud use package with name 42+ with or without borders.
As it is visible from the screenshot the Icons are way too big compared to the standard icon size in the background in the title bar for the browser, also it's misaligned with the logo of the PWA. I've tried with many PWAs (YouTube Music, Gmail, WhatsApp) the exact misalignment in all of them.
My system details:
OS: Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS x86_64
Kernel: 6.2.0-32-generic
DE: GNOME 42.9
WM: Mutter
Theme: Gruvbox-Dark-BL [GTK2/3]
Scaling Factor: 1.25
Hello, first of all I would like to say that I really like the theme and I use it daily, I liked it so much that I packaged this theme for the nix package manager, but unfortunately at the moment it is listed as unstable because it does not have any version in the repository, could you release a numbered version/release?
You can see the package here: https://search.nixos.org/packages?channel=unstable&from=0&size=50&sort=relevance&type=packages&query=gruvbox+gtk+theme
