did a nightshift, latest commit works on my machine. Can you please check?
Also don't forget to call the runserver command with python manage.py runserver --insecure otherwise it won't load the directly adressed staticfiles. This will work out of the box correctly when run in production mode with DEBUG = false.

damn staticfiles. I have no clue why it stopped working. I deleted locally the top-tree staticfiles and checked all settings over 3 hours while sitting on the train and found .... nothing.
