I should note that 'large arrays are anything ~> 200x200x200 elements, though the exact dimensions corresponding to failure seem to depend on the complexity of the geometry.

Hi @bspatter, I am a CGAL developer, and one of the maintainers of the CGAL mesh generation algorithms. If you still have the data set that fails, would you mind to send it to be (in the .inr format), so that I can try to reproduce the issue?
As far as I know, the CGAL binaries in iso2mesh were compiled with a version of CGAL dated 2011 (CGAL-3.8)... whereas we have two new major releases per year. The 3D mesh generation component has evolved a lot since then, and the bug you are pointing out is probably already solved.

Hi Laurent,
At the moment, the project has moved in another direction and I don't have
the datasets that failed anymore. There is a 50/50 chance that after I
finish some experiments, I will return to the computational modeling and
regenerate the data that failed. If this happens, I will gladly send you
the .inr files for the failed meshes. Thanks for getting back to me.
