Hey there, @rogermiranda1000!
The current version of this library was written with Java 17 in mind. I don't recommend using version v2.x as it lacks a lot of features of the current version and also has a different and, in my opinion, worse API.
However, you might want to check out @tomwmth's fork of this library. It seems like he added support for Java 8, so you might want to get in touch with him (although I've never interacted with him myself).
