video not playing on iPad about html5media HOT 2 CLOSED

Unfortunately, the video doesn't really work in Chrome either, due to a webkit bug. Videos don't autoplay properly in some versions of webkit if they have no controls but have a poster image. This might also be what's affecting the iPad version.

Additionally, videos won't autoplay in iPhone at all, since videos are played in a standalone fullscreen player.

My advice would be to drop the video from the design, since it'll not work as intended in iPhone. If you do want to keep it, you'll need to drop the poster image.

Thanks for the information Dave. It is actually working surprisingly well on Chrome for Windows as-is. Personally, I hate to have the video there at all, but its what the client demands. I'll find something else for the mobile devices.
