Hi Xin Xia

You can call MDCS in an GPTool, it is can run withtin arcmap as well as ArcGIS Pro some of the examples are below

http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=b7c019a561fc427a8ebf9d463df41637

The GPtools are in the tools folder.

Ideal case would be to have everything in once script and not use model builder to run. if you need to write some custom code you can use the user command section and call that command as part of the workflow.

@mfunk @abhiataero

Thank you both very much for getting back to me.

I have looked over the examples provided above for satellite imagery, and I have some questions for you. This is for @abhiataero
I'm working with air photos, so I definitely would like to get MDCS working as a GPTool. Does the code for the MDCS need to be edited so that it can be put into a .pyt tool or can the MDCS code be imported into a .tbx tool?
If the MDCS code can be imported into a .tbx tool that can create a mosaic dataset, add rasters, calculate statistics, build pyramids, and build overviews how do I bring all pieces of the MDCS code and the .xml configuration file together into one .tbx tool?
I work with thousands of images located in different workspaces organized by location and date that will need to go into different source mosaic datasets. Each source mosaic dataset will contain hundreds of images. The source mosaic datasets will be used to create derived mosaic datasets and reference mosaic datasets. Once the MDCS is either in a .pyt tool or a .tbx tool will the iterate options in model build work with the tool?
Are there any additional resources that show the process of creating a .tbx tool or a .pyt tool from the MDCS code?

@xiaxi203 Could you check if the attached samples could help. The PYT source files show you two different ways how you could invoke MDCS from either the model builder/ArcMap.

@Chamlika Thank you for providing the samples. I will work through the samples and get back to you. It might take me awhile, but I will definitely get back to you.

Closing the issue as this was a query and there is no activity on it for a long time
