I'm closing this. It is going to be a plugin, if I ever do it.

Hi,
In 'Designing for Scalability with Erlang OTP' page 322, the following sentence:
"Starting with Erlang/OTP version 17, appup files are included in every appli‐
cation. Prior to that, you could upgrade only some core applications, as not all appli‐
cations provided an appup file."
What about rebar3 takes care of appup files? Like it does with *.app.src ?
If an *.appup.src was found then it will be copied to ebin directory.
Of course a plugin could do the job. There are a plugin that do this?

I implemented this for rebar2, i'll gladly also do it for rebar3, just need to first look at the code and understand the plugin architecture

So far I've been suggesting people just use https://github.com/RJ/relflow but since all apps should come with a .appup to be nice to users it would be good to exist outside of a release tool.
@lrascao I'd be interested to see that for rebar3 :)

Any news about it?
Thanks.

on my end, been too busy to pick this up, still resting in my backlog...

Do you need help? I can try to port it.

sure, that'd be pretty cool, the original PR on rebar2 is here: https://github.com/rebar/rebar/pull/449/files

Hi,
Check this:
https://github.com/joaohf/rebar3_appup
https://github.com/joaohf/rebar3_appup_test
Basically it's a port from rebar2 to rebar3.
Am I in the right way?
Thanks a lot.

why the different repo for the tests?
