RuntimeError: There is no current event loop in thread "worker 0" about nest_asyncio HOT 2 CLOSED

There are several options. The best one is to use a fully asyncio-based application server, such as aiohtttp, sanic, quart, fastapi, etc. and to use fully async code.

Another option is to use the native bottle server instead of the paste server; It is single-threaded and will not cause issues (but will be blocking other concurrent requests).

A third option is to keep using the multi threaded paste server and create an event loop for each thread:

    try:
        asyncio.get_event_loop()
    except RuntimeError:
        loop = asyncio.new_event_loop()
        asyncio.set_event_loop(loop)
        nest_asyncio.apply(loop)
