I'm using this package in a react-native 0.59.9 application and I'm getting the error

Sorry guys, I just found a solution changing my babel.config.js file to this:

module.exports = {
    presets: ['module:metro-react-native-babel-preset'],
    plugins: [
        [
            'babel-plugin-root-import',
            {
                rootPathSuffix: 'src',
            },
        ],
    ],
}

from babel-plugin-root-import.

My babel.config.js looked like this when I was facing this issue

module.exports = {
  presets: ["module:metro-react-native-babel-preset"],
  plugins: [
    [ "babel-plugin-root-import", {
      rootPathPrefix: "@root",
      rootPathSuffix: "src"
    }]
  ],
  env: {
    production: {
      plugins: [ "babel-plugin-root-import", {
        rootPathPrefix: "@root",
        rootPathSuffix: "src"
      }]
    }
  }
};

I changed it to this

module.exports = {
  presets: ["module:metro-react-native-babel-preset"],
  plugins: [
    ["babel-plugin-root-import", {
      rootPathPrefix: "@root",
      rootPathSuffix: "src"
    }]
  ],
  env: {
    production: {
      plugins: [
        ["babel-plugin-root-import", {
          rootPathPrefix: "@root",
          rootPathSuffix: "src"
        }]
      ]
    }
  }
};

Just added square brackets, so the problem was with production env. That's why it was working fine in dev.

@dev-simplificaci DId this solve your problem? I've got the same setup but it doesn't seem to be working for me. Metro is fine until I try and bundle for production
