Refactor SetInput/GetOutput methods (that are removed in VTK 6) about mayavi HOT 11 CLOSED

Yes, but this has to be done for every single module/filter and source and sometimes the implications are not straightforward all the time as the input/output was relied upon in many places. So it is going to be a bit of work. We have to do it at some point though.

Has there been any progress here? Fedora 20 is now on VTK 6, so Mayavi is essentially broken out of the box (again, I might add, but that's not your fault).

Yes, we are working on this. There is a lot of work and @dmsurti is making steady progress. A PR will be sent and merged when this is ready.

I'm also affected by this, as sabayon/gentoo are also shipping vtk-6(.1) now. When can we expect a solution to this issue?

Fixed as of Mayavi 4.4.2 and VTK 6.2. Closed.
