Is the tech side going to be JS-centric, or is the goal to be language agnostic?

Good question @zulaica, on the one hand I like the idea of the event being language agnostic in order to draw in a wider range of people. I think the only con of that is it may limit the types of talks speakers can give if they aren't sure that attendees are on the same page - this would probably only be an issue with technical talks (I'm hoping most talks will be creative coding/passion themed - which would be pretty universal and maybe one in-depth technical talk each month)

Ah, good point on people being on the same page. Focus is definitely a good thing. So, in that case, I think 'JS' should definitely be in the name.

I am a big fan of JS and an even bigger of waffles. I would prefer it to be JS-centric, because that frames everything (i.e. speakers, audience, advertising, etc.); that doesn't mean there can't be tech talks covering something other than JS.

Just realized that Portland Javascript Admirers uses the name 'pdxjs' on twitter. I think it'll be too confusing if we call ourselves that too. Let's wait and see what venue/food option we end up going with and go from there. For now I've just renamed to repo to 'portland_js'
