this happens when using git-bash 2.x (probably > 2.4) with no credentials helper, i.e. user is prompted for credentials on each pull/push.

it originates from internal git command invocations, as they attempt to explicitly redirect stderr to stdout, e.g.:

git pull >/dev/null 2>&1

when such redirection is attempted, the following error is thrown (removing the >/dev/null, will reveal it in the terminal output):

bash: /dev/tty: No such device or address
error: failed to execute prompt script (exit code 1)
fatal: could not read Username for 'https://lpgithub.dev.lprnd.net': No error

this is an issue with git-for-windows, and can/should be avoided by activating the credential helper, thus avoiding the prompt altogether:

git config --global credential.helper wincred

from git-flux.
