Aaaand I submitted the issue to the wrong project (It's Friday here).
I guess this module can be adjusted to work in /etc/logstash-forwarder but the issue will still remain of not supplying the config file.
I'll re-create the issue at elasticsearch/logstash-forwarder

@eskp Did you ever create that issue for elasticsearch/logstash-forwarder? I'm having the same problem.

Hey @meatherly, check out the above pull request.
The init scripts templates need fixing in this module where they point to the correct configuration or can be overridden in /etc/sysconfig/$NAME.

LSF 0.4.0 has been released a while ago and the puppet module has been updated.
Can you validate it works for you now? Please open a new issue if you are having problems.
