A syncing feature would also be a good idea for programmers/developers that 
wish to work on different parts of a project but want to keep everything 
together and updated. Similar to dropbox only without the central server and 
limitations.

OK, I've put together a plugin and it detects file changes and tries a 
download, but it only intermittently runs a download when I initiate the 
commands.  You can see that I have tried 2 approaches and the 
ViewShareMDIWindow approach sometimes works, but sometimes it just silently 
doesn't work:

You can download and try out that plugin on trunk code.  I'd appreciate any 
ideas or even wild suggestions.  I'm pretty much stuck.

Don't have your thread (runnable) exit, just have it sleep for X seconds.  I've 
done it and have code somewhere if you need it.

k the forums are back up. Looks like the web server shutdown on me after some 
system updates I did last night :/.

OK, I've tried having that Runnable thread sleep for 10 seconds, at the end of 
the run() method or right after the download request.  Same results.
