Update (Friday a.m. in Oslo): Like the language switching issue mentioned on Slack, this seems unstable. Sometimes I see center-justified text, sometimes right-justified.

Can you check if it's the same in production?

Ok the zoom and behavior is similar, but the style looks different on the edge. The problem might be due to the projection? Fixable @dmccarey ? Maybe just set a bgcolor on the enclosing div?

We would need to make the zoom responsive to the viewport size.

Can't we enforce a minimum zoom anyway?

• is it hard to add a short fade transition between pages / when menu opens & closes? it feels a little abrupt right now
• also what do you think about displaying the area affected at any zoom whenever switching to that year first time; in addition to displaying area affected when all the way zoomed out

@mikelmaron So I think this looks like more to do with the size of display your on? We would need to make the zoom responsive to the viewport size. Can you check if it's the same in production?

@mikelmaron I've updated the logic for this -- I was able to limit the bounds on the Source and I've added a minZoom of 3.5. The cache is still showing a few tiles in the far west -- I think they will disappear when the cache expires.
