The other day the only place I could find to have a nap was a disabled toilet in the office.

I need to find a better way of recharging, rather than ingesting stimulants (such as coffee)

from home.

Little tangent.

Language concept: "work life balance"

For me it is: "life work balance" (putting life first) or "life work integration"

Work should not be different from life?

Preaching to the quire now, I'm hoping to connect with you either in London or in Portugal...

£18 an HOUR?! Way to take advantage of people's exhaustion (i.e. debilitated state). 😕

Yeah, most people in London (outside of the Tech/Finance "bubble") don't earn £18/hour ... 😖
Which explains why they are based in Old Street: 🙄

"Pop & Rest opened as a pop-up in Monument last year, then set up a permanent base near Old Street in June due to a surge in demand for its rooms."

I'm not against napping during the day in fact I'm a fan of the idea if I've had a poor night's sleep the night before for any reason ...

In Japan there is a culture of time-boxed sleep which many claim boosts productivity:

What I object to is the fact that London Lifestyle is "burning people out".
"New Parents" should not have to be rushing back to work.
Obviously, if they chose to use this service it's good that it exists.
The prices is more a factor of "Supply and Demand" and due to location than anything else.
This is a "patch" on a problem rather than addressing the "root cause".

@stefek99 totally agree coffee/tea/macha/sodas/redbull/etc. are all "bandaids" 😞
Sucks that you had to rest in a "stall", we know plenty of people who have had to resort to that sub-optimal option often through no "fault" of their own e.g: small children keeping them up at night.

Most workplaces are not designed for people who have "real" lives outside of work.
"modern" offices are relics of the industrial revolution before evening activities were popular.
We hope to address this in home by having well insulated (sound/light) and temperature controlled rooms optimised for restorative sleep.
We will release our anonymised "sleep quality feedback" data once we have a meaningful amount of it,
and all our bed/room designs will be Open Source so anyone can suggest improvements
or "fork" them and build something better with our blessing!

"Recharging" when you are low/tired will become the standard way all companies/organisation work in the near future ... companies will adapt to the demands of their best people or face an exodus!
