We already have a readline support which is built in node. It is not as advanced and extensible as gnu readline but it supports some basic commands. We might need to replace it in the future to support more advanced features, but I think for now it serves well.

Are we talking about the same thing? I meant reading a string from the
user, like Clojure’s `read-line` function.

read-line works in the JVM version, so I added a lumo label for clarity.
