This method isn't very reliable since Windows 8 and above doesn't make more than one System Restore Point per day if done programatically. I'll just ask them to do it manually via Start menu>Create a system restore point>Create. Of course, I'd be more descriptive.

Actually, instead of telling them where to find it, just launch the System Properties Protection tab ("C:\Windows\System32\SystemPropertiesProtection.exe") and give them a guide to enable it and a guide to create a system restore point.
When telling them about the guides, tell them to start following along at step 6 on both guides and only "Option One" on the "creating a restore point" guide.

I need to change what application I open. There's basically no way to get to the System Protection tab via VB.Net and SystemPropertiesProtection. Control Panel can instead be opened to the System Properties page and the user can follow at step 5 instead.

- Use a form with a textbox to display the current Registry key value.
- Allow importing and exporting the current Registry key value partially using the CLI.
- Unless I've already mentioned this, there should be an option to warn the user that their selections will be modified before importing selections and give them a chance to back out.
