MAUI Toolkit DrawingView works fine in Debug mode but crashes in Release mode (Android) about maui HOT 4 CLOSED

When Debug works and Release not - it is usually optimizations and there are several steps layers of optimizations:

• managed (trimming/linking .NET assemblies *.dlls)
• Android (Android R8/proguard)

In your case seems like part of the stacktrace is missing, but

System.NotSupportedException: Cannot create instance of type '': no Java peer type found.

led me to:

xamarin/xamarin-android#7736

I would suggest adding and playing with Trimming options (IsTrimmable, TrimmerRootDescriptor)
