exitemu works well when I launch the dosemu without any programs. If I launch a program with it it causes the error.
d:\dosemu\exitemu.com exits successfully wheather I lauch it with a program or not.

Why D:\dosemu is empty??
Please post the output of the host command:
ls -lR /usr/share/dosemu

No idea why that folder is empty. I no longer do modifications to dosemu.

Are you installing from package or from sources?
Try ls -lR /usr/local/share/dosemu

So you do have exitemu.com at the right place,
but dosemu doesn't see it.
Please try to run freecom.exe and then do
dir d:\dosemu

I guess you are asking me to run dosemu using freecom rather than comcom32 (I accidentally did it in the past fdpp#64 but I don't know how). If you tell me the steps I need to take I would gladly do it.

Instead get it from "tmp" dir in a
source tree. It is pre-built there and works.

I installed the comcom32 as instructed and the bug persists.
Can removing all dosemu folders prior to the install solve the problem?

Please build previous versions of comcom32.
git checkoout HEAD^
make
sudo make install
Repeat that procedure 2-3 times, there were not
too many commits recently.

This is one of the programs that I checked that produced the bug.
I used the following script.
dosemu -K "/home/manuel/Downloads/ckong11" -E"CKONG.EXE"
