What's the git sha1 of your godo? I installed the latest go, pulled master on a new debian 8.5 vm, and ran go test without any issues.

All tests are passing for me on fresh Debian 8.6 install:

root@debian-2gb-nyc3-01:~/gocode/src/github.com/digitalocean/godo# go test
PASS
ok github.com/digitalocean/godo 0.172s
root@debian-2gb-nyc3-01:~/gocode/src/github.com/digitalocean/godo# cat /etc/debian_version
8.6
root@debian-2gb-nyc3-01:~/gocode/src/github.com/digitalocean/godo# uname -a
Linux debian-2gb-nyc3-01 3.16.0-4-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 3.16.36-1+deb8u2 (2016-10-19) x86_64 GNU/Linux
root@debian-2gb-nyc3-01:~/gocode/src/github.com/digitalocean/godo# go version
go version go1.7.3 linux/amd64
root@debian-2gb-nyc3-01:~/gocode/src/github.com/digitalocean/godo# git rev-parse --verify HEAD

Are you packaging this for Debian? I'd encourage you to take a git snapshot if so. We are not currently doing tagged releases of godo. As a Debian Developer myself, I can understand how that can be inconvenient. Though using current git head is pretty standard practice in the Go community.

Yes that works. Thx for the hint.
