Please provide me the debug log and the exact command you are using if you can. Add -v -v options to see the debug log.

Ok, unicode problem somewhere.
Can you try running the command without double quotes ?

What is you OS ? I can reproduce this bug on my Ubuntu 11.04 but I can swear that the exact same command was running well on the same OS about 3 weeks ago. Must be an update on Python or something that messed things up.

I think this can be fixed by changing the format of the handler to a unicode string here and there.
Also, some improvement can be done using repr instead of str in logging like in this changeset
