This looks like an issue with Nix that you will want to report here:

https://github.com/NixOS/nix/issues

Specifically the problem looks to be related to downloading GHC 8.4.3

from dhall-nix.

Oh, I see. But then how can I instruct it to download stack and the corresponding version of ghc as v8.2.2 ? Please let me know :)

@abhi18av: This guide does not really cover how to use Nix to install and use stack. This focuses more on using Nix in conjunction with cabal. See:

However, if you do want to install stack, you can do so with:

$ nix-env --install --attr stack

from dhall-nix.

I'm closing this as I believe the question was answered. dhall-nix is now a subproject of the dhall-haskell project and you can find the latest instructions for installing it here: https://github.com/dhall-lang/dhall-haskell/blob/master/README.md
