I can see what you mean. It looks like that's just the way the standard Windows controls work. It's possible it could be adjusted for the listview, but then the other edit controls would be inconsistent. Having said that, it would be nice to have the behaviour that's standard just about everywhere else.

Also non-standard, but potentially useful (saves some clicks/keypresses): while renaming, pressing Tab would (try to) accept current input and switch to rename mode on next file/folder.
Have to make a request to add Shift+Tab to that function. :)

It appears the listview control on Windows 10 and 11 has been updated to work in the more typical way. If you press the right arrow key when a filename is selected, the cursor will move to the end of the selection, rather than one step past that. While the control still works as described above on Windows 7 and 8, I'd probably be inclined to close this issue, given that it's an issue with the controls provided by Windows and Microsoft have now fixed the issue themselves.
