The reasoning in calling the button "Delete" is that the chat is deleted. It's the same as if the user had clicked "Delete Chat".

On the other hand, nothing in the current request UI tells the user that "Delete" means deleting the chat rather than message(s). So, I tend to slightly agree with @bar-g that "Ignore" would be better even though it is inconsistent with the "Delete Chat" button's wording.

"ignore" implies the chat will be blocked and ignored in the future, I find delete/accept a contact request more friendly

yes, but that is another issue, that user maybe expect different things when deleting a chat. our current approach is just a pragmatic one.

still, it is about "Deletion", so i would find "Ignore" also a bit weird and it is not clear if it will be an improvement.

however, as there is no concrete actionable item and this issue tracker is not about discussions, i am closing this issue here. if required, discussion can continue at https://support.delta.chat - also as there is a broader audience of users and also as it is not really android issue
