Subject: [Hours] As a user I want to be able to delete projects (#62)

Especially projects without hours must be deletable by everyone imo. If you created one accidentally for example.

Yeah, makes sense. Projects with hours is probably a little more complicated, we'd need to move them to another project?

archive option :)

IMO when you delete a project you should just specify another project where the entries should go to, should you be able to ever delete all the entries when deleting the project? (I would say no)

Intuitively, I'm against moving hours.
What's wrong with archiving?
This (archiving/deleting) feature is mainly so you don't see these useless (or outdated) projects anymore.
If your entries were wrong we should look into batch deleting entries, not projects.
In reports / user view by default we should ignore archived projects and their entries.

For empty projects I do support deleting obviously

I see archiving as something different from deleting a project, when you archive it you just no longer see it in your overview and you can't add entries to them anymore. (however it would count towards account totals)

IMO deleting projects is not because entries were wrong, it's because you decided that you no longer wish to distinguish between these two projects because they are the same thing, essentially this feature could also be called 'Merge projects'

dkhgh avatar dkhgh commented on June 9, 2024

OK. So a merge would basically be: assign all entries from project x to project y and then delete the latter?

jurre avatar jurre commented on June 9, 2024

delete the former, but yeah
