Oh, never mind! Now I realised that I can just hit enter to browse the subreddit in Alfred!

TAB also autocompletes the name of the selected subreddit and shows posts (unless that's something I've added to my unreleased version).

TAB is not working. That's why I thought the feature was lacking.

Now I see there's a weird behaviour. I'm not sure if it's expected. If I don't type anything but r/ I can browse the selected subreddit by hitting enter. On the other hand, if I start filtering the subreddits by typing some letters enter will not show the posts but open the subreddit url.

No, you're right. The behaviour is inconsistent. I should fix that.

What do you reckon? Should ENTER open the subreddit in your browser or expand the query in Alfred?

I stick with enter to expand the query. Btw I have another request. Would it be possible to make enter open the comments of a link in the browser rather than open the link itself? It would be useful to avoid that one can open a link by mistake when the intention is to see the comments. In this case we could open the corresponding link using a modifier key.

Another alternative would be adopting icons to differentiate links and posts so you can keep the current behaviour.

I would personally like to have TAB autocomplete the subreddit and see results inside Alfred. And pressing return would open the subreddit in the default browser. Basically as it is now but minus the inconsistent behavior of return expanding results inside Alfred if no query was typed by user.

You can press cmd+return to see the thread (comments) of any post.

Yes, I know this. It happens many times I don't notice the link is not a post because the difference is subtle in the workflow. Personally I would rather the same key could show the thread for both links and posts.
