Ok cool I just published a new version that uses mutationobserver to detect
DOM changes in the iFrame.

What are you working on?

Dave.

Change: previously loading & initializing of “iframe-resizer” plugin was made inside body tag, now the plugin can be defined in head tag and will be automatically initialized on jQuery document.ready event
Change: public “trigger” method for resizing is now renamed to: and triggered trough global event on window object (compatibility if “iframe-resizer” is not loaded)
Update: example to new definitions
Add: documentation: browser compatibility
Add: parameter to trigger event
Add: new parameter autoWindowResize - Default: true, disables resizing on window change event, useful for manual setting iframe dimensions.

Sounds good, only thing I ask is the iFrame code has no dependancies, as
it's designed to be a guest on other peoples sites.

Hi you will need to make a pull request on GitHub for me to be able to do a
merge.

Having had a quick look at the code, I'm not sure why the iframe needs the
settime out code added to it. The reason it was at the bottom, was that
this is current best pratise, not beacuse it needs to run last. The code is
triggered by an incoming postMessage, which can only happen after the page
has fully loaded. So it does not matter where on the page it is placed.

Also not clear why the retryPostInitMessagetoIframe() function is needed.
Currently the code ti trigger the iFrame is called twice, once when the
code runs, incase the iFrame is already loaded and once by an onload event
when the iFrame has completed loading. Between these two calls all
instances are covered. I'm guessing you added this because the timeout in
the iFrame created problems, as it delays that code until 10ms after the
iframe is ready and the unload event fires. But like I said you shouldn't
need that as it's the incoming messsage that triggers the code.

Happy to add the autoWindowResize flag. I think it needs to override the
interval timer and in version 1.1 the MutationObserver check as well.

Also your version of setHeightAuto is better than my one, as I forgot to
set auto height on the html tag.

So if you could make a github pull request with the autoWindowResize flag
and the setHeightAuto stuff in it, I would be happy to add those.

Also I'd rather leave the code at the bottom of the HTML, as this is best
pratise these days, as it makes the page load faster.

Cheers,
Dave.

Instead of initialization retry method I would use trigger from iframe, but problem is in unique identifier.
