Sorry this has taken so long to get back to you! I think this is just how the new versions of Go handle comments...

This is the render function that outputs the comment. It will write this into the output stream:

type Foo struct {
/* 
F
  f              
*/
}

If you run go fmt on this, it will change it to:

type Foo struct {
        /*
           F

                f
        */
}

If you want to override the automatic formatting, you can prefix your comment with /* and it will be written to the output stream as-is.

So this formatting change between 1.19 and 1.20 is actually in the gofmt package. interesting...
