I wonder if this is the default --output directory; the name fits the default chosen according to the --help info. Note that I am typically compiling one language at a time using the language-specific options and do not explicitly specify --output in any of the cases where a directory is created.

Not sure why this was closed; still happens pretty consistently for me. I will attempt to sort out if it's with every compile command or just specific ones. I typically notice a bunch of them at once after the fact.
