Why is Float.radians the same as identity? about tablecloth HOT 2 OPEN

Honestly, I think this is one where Elm got it wrong. Here’s what I have found in other languages:

• Python: math.radians() converts from degrees to radians; math.degrees() converts from radians to degrees.
• Java: Java.Math.toRadians() converts degrees to radians; Java.Math.toDegrees() converts from radians to degrees
• Julia and PHP: deg2rad() converts degrees to radians; rad2deg() converts radians to degrees

My vote: new functions to_radians() and to_degrees(), with their camelCase equivalents.

The API follows Elm’s and I couldn’t find a great answer to this either:

I was considering proposing a ‘radians’ module, the it’s purpos would be to convert float -> Radian.t.

As far as I can tell it’s purpose is just to be used as a label to indicate ‘I want this float to be treated as an angle in radians’.
