hey @aarongerig. The Problem is: staticroutes have a lower priority than symfony routes.
But we just had the same problem - even if you want to override the members routes in your app config, the priority is still a problem (it only works if you have a additional bundle with a higher priority than members.)
I just created an issue (#36) for that.

Thanks @solverat ! Yeah, I've tried it with the app configs as well. Would be great to have this kind of power over the default Members routes. If I can contribute in any way, let me know.

We're also working on a CoreShop implementation, so for now i'll wait for the 2.1 release!
