We might need a removeAll, for symmetry with selectAll.

A related consideration: remove() removes self and selects parent, remove("selector") removes nodes that match the given selector and returns self.

Also, for symmetry, you could add a create("name") operator that creates nodes but does not add them to the DOM. Then calling append() would append those nodes to the current parent (and return them). This might also make it possible to use select(node) or selectAll([nodes]) to move existing nodes around in the current document.

This is also a horrible idea because it causes the child data to overwrite the parent data when the children are removed!
