Hey @sambauers
Thank you for this. This is great. I had a look and it seems Remark has come a long way. I'd love to try that out. Can you make a WIP PR and see how it works. Like don't work on tests at first but just the implementation first. Once that's good we can both work on the tests :)

Iām nearly done with this. Just finishing off the tests (which was worth doing as they actually uncovered a couple of issues). Will post a PR when done.

I think I found a bug in Remark which is breaking one test. Noting here for reference - remarkjs/remark#497
