I upgraded Genymotion to 2.10 which comes with Open GApps which then help install Google Play Service. I was able to get the token but still unable to receive the notification.
Also is there a reason why the target framework for Plugin.FirebasePushNotification is 7.1?
I tested on an actual device running 5.1 (API 22). And even though the firebase initialized successfully with a token being returned, its still not receiving any notification.
Target Android Version: 7.1 (to match with the plugin assembly) ~ API 25
Minimum Android Version: 5.1 ~ API 22
Ok I found out that using FireBase Console to send message is not working for some reason ... I had to use Postman, plus I found an error in my Manifest. So I did receive a notification .....

It requires Android 7.0 as target because relays on Firebase Cloud Messaging package which needs Android 7.0 as target.
