The U.S. state-level and city/county-level data is now being fetched from the NY Times dataset, as the JHU daily reports had little historical data for city/county-level data, as described in #6. Information about what data is pulled from which data sources is described in the README's Data Sources section.
I won't have time in the immediate term to do a thorough comparison of the data coverage between these two sources, but if someone else would like to do so, please feel free to.
