This is a bit strange, because it works perfectly fine for me.
Output from coursera-dl -u user -p password econ1scientists-2012-01:

I will have to take a closer look at that soon, but not being able to
reproduce it makes things harder to debug.

The version of the 19th January works fine (installed on another computer). Incidentally, current version exhibits the problematic behavior in the other computer, where the 19th January version works fine.
Digging somewhat deeper, it seems that somewhere the index gets truncated. In another class, the behavior is slightly different. It does not download the most recent videos and other files (class in case: gametheory-2012-001).
After some more debugging, I found that the culprit is the switch to beautifulsoup4 by default, instead of beautifulsoup3. If I revert to beautifulsoup3, I have no more problems. Both bs4 and bs3 are installed (fedora packages).

Test script runtest.sh fails with the following output:
https://gist.github.com/4662596
Software packages installed are:
python-2.7.3-13.fc18.i686
python-BeautifulSoup-3.2.1-4.fc18.noarch
python-beautifulsoup4-4.1.3-1.fc18.noarch

I have reverted the use of bs4 by default. I'm closing this. If the issue persists, please, open another issue.
