We currently (effectively) mandate that url variables are not used in
the .repo files provided for rpm-ostree. So to make dnf happy we could
just set --releasever=0
or so.
Note that rpm-ostree git master uses libhif(hawkey+libsolv, librepo) and
thus does not depend on either yum nor dnf.
from rpm-ostree.
Thanks for clarifying that. For correctness, why not make it use --releasever=?
That explains why I couldn't work out where the subprocess was called. Thanks for clarifying this. Which version of fedora ships the git master version of rpm-ostree?
from rpm-ostree.
So the trivial patch to add --releasever
only solves the first problem. The second is that dnf doesn't implement yum shell
. So we'll need a patch to also support calling out to /usr/bin/yum-deprecated
. Working on it.

This branch should fix it: https://github.com/cgwalters/rpm-ostree/commits/2015.3-yumbased

This downstream update needs karma: https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/rpm-ostree-2015.3-7.fc22
