Hi mbppower, I use a Oneplus One and I launch the camera on device ready with sceen width and height. Unfortunately the aspect ratio seems stretched. Here's a screenshot

Hi ipno84, how did you have launched the camera preview in full screen?

from cordova-plugin-camera-preview.

Ipno84 avatar Ipno84 commented on May 29, 2024

I set on device ready the camera preview like this

cordova.plugins.camerapreview.startCamera({x: 0, y: 0, width: cameraWidth, height: cameraHeight}, "front", tapEnabled, dragEnabled, toBack);

where cameraWidth and cameraHeight are screen.width and screen.height

the deviceready listener is launched inside a DOMContentLoaded listener

Hello Everybody,
According to @westonganger , the Resolution issue has been fixed at fork: https://github.com/skanygin/CordovaCameraPreview.
Has anybody confirmed the same? Has the issue been resolved?

Asking because, implementing the Repo will buy my whole day. And if the Resolution issue had not been fixed, then spending whole day after it is not worth.

I have successfully used it on my app without stretch I recommend that fork. I had no issues with that one.

I have the same issue. When the camera is started the preview has very low quality.
It's blurred and also aspect ratio seems to be broken (visible especially when I rotate my phone while watching preview). When I take photo in this state, it's very small.
Only switching camera to front and back again solves this.

Is there any confirmed solution to this problem? I tried these mentioned here but with no positive result...

diegolamonica avatar diegolamonica commented on May 29, 2024

Same problem as @dzb87 here... on the cameraStart, the acquired image seems low quality resolution and apparently stretched. After switching back to front or viceversa, the camera starts to work fine. Please @westonganger have you got any news?
Exactly which part of the code is envolved/should fix this issue?

Thanks in advance.

Can we record a video in it?

from cordova-plugin-camera-preview.

anneb avatar anneb commented on May 29, 2024

On iPhone the picture taken has aspect ratio 4:3. The iPhone screen has aspect ratio 16:9. If you show a 4:3 picture on a 16:9 screen at full-screen, the resulting picture will be stretched in one direction. If I compare the iPhone on-screen camera preview (portrait, 16:9 aspect ratio) with the stored photo, there are additional pixels on the left and right in the stored photo that were not visible in the camera preview.

Is there anyone working on the video making
