This is happening with an Arduino Ethernet or an Ethernet Shield?

I have just tested some changes and this should be fixed now. I tested with an ethernet shield and an Arduino Uno.
I was able to successfully upload both with and without an SD card. It might take sometime for the fix to be uploaded in github as the changes are part of the Mega branch. I will leave this bug report open until you can also test the changes.

I was able to repeatably load sketches to the arduino ethernet with the sd card installed. It looks like everything works great now. Thanks so much for taking care of this!
