Faced this issue as well. One workaround is to spin up an instance of ubuntu 18.04.

Due to a shift in my research focus away from PIM, I have decided to close this issue. However, after some time using the Zsim simulator, I recommend everyone to explore the Docker-packaged version of the simulator. Similar versions are provided by projects like DAMOV.
