Error: creating Security Group: InvalidVpcID.NotFound: The vpc ID does not exist about terraform-aws-msk-apache-kafka-cluster HOT 5 CLOSED

The VPC exists and still the module throws error InvalidVpcID.NotFound
i'm also facing the same issue:

│ Error: creating Security Group (xxx-xxx-msk--gFuf-20230510073658625700000001): InvalidVpcID.NotFound: The vpc ID 'vpc-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx' does not exist
│       status code: 400, request id: 024xsd3e73-31a8-4b15-9273-ab9f90af26a9

is there any fix on this??

since the issue is open from march 30 and no update on the fix. will have to write my own or find an another update. @devopsidiot did you have any workaround or alternative solution?

I'm getting the same error using the example in the Readme. Probably I'm missing something?

The README example is just an example on how to use the module, it does not include real VPCs and real security groups - you have to use your own VPCs and SGs.

This example is a working example that gets deployed to AWS on every pull request, please look at https://github.com/cloudposse/terraform-aws-msk-apache-kafka-cluster/tree/master/examples/complete

I'm going to close this issue since the README example is not deployable b/c it does not use real VPCs and SGs.

I am marking this as closed by #85. If you can reproduce the problem with the current module, please open a new issue, and verify that the VPC not found error is not due to the module being deployed in a different account or region than the VPC was created in.
