Hi Shaun,
Thank you for the correct observation.
There are rspec tests included in the GEM. We do add tests and run them regularly when committing changes.
However, most of the recent commits and changes were related to CarrierWave. We have a large set of tests that we maintain and run for testing the CarrierWave plugin. We do so with a live system in multiple Rails and Ruby versions.
Those tests are currently not in the GEM because they require a full server application running. They are managed internally on our private system.
We plan to add in the future the CarrierWave tests to a public repository or to the GEM.
