The extern for this one is really easy (just one function):

Sorry — in the meantime I've discovered that FileSaver isn't such a great idea after all. Doesn't work everywhere, requires additional shims, and the whole File Writer API is deprecated by the W3C anyway. It seems the only reasonable solution for saving data on the client side is to bounce it back from the server.
Given this, I'm not sure it's worth the effort to maintain FileSaver.js as a dependency.
