You'd have to modify the source, but it sounds like this would cause a usability issue.

Thanks for the reply. I feel like the usability issue is that once you
select a color (click, then mouse up) the panel just hangs there. Then the
user has to fire another click just to hide the color panel. In my opinion
the desired behavior would be to hide after mouse up, at least in some
situations. I know hiding it on "change" event doesn't work because the
user may be dragging the color until they find something they like. Ok,
well I thought I was missing something, thanks for confirming. I'll modify
the source if that is truly what our users want.
