Hi

The book should be in the manuscript/_book/ folder.
When you compiled the book, how long did the rendering take? Should be a few minutes.

Hi,

Thanks for reply.

I meant exactly manuscript/_book directory: it was created but empty.

In my case, rendering worked about 20 s (on a fast laptop with SSD drive). The last message in terminal was

The following objects are masked from 'package:base':
abbreviate, write

Before that, I've seen some percentage, last value was 28%. Seems like R ended without error message.

In one run, the last message was

List of 1
$ results: chr "hide"

(on 31%)

What other debug info (like full log) can be helpful?
(system details: Windows 10 x64, R 3.5.1 x86, java x86 version 1.8.0_181)

Seems like it starts rendering, then stops, and cleans up afterwards.
There should be an error message, it's weird that none appears.
You are in the 'master' branch?

It seems like it happens when you are in the rulefit chapter. You could try to compile it without this chapter and see if it gets you further. You can achieve this by deleting the line "04.6-interpretable-rulefit.Rmd", from manuscript/_bookdown.yml

Also you can try to execute single chapters to see if that works. When you use RStudio you can one one of the .Rmd files and do Run -> Run All to execute all chunks and see if it works. Then you should see the outputs (tables/graphics).
