Due to ethereum/go-ethereum#16899 (comment), currently light clients cannot have the same IP address
Wow. Do you mean internal IP or external facing IP? If it latter than this has to be fixed. Most mobile networks are going to be NATed.

The current workaround is considered enough.
For the future, we might consider working on spam protection
