Plex hasn't given any concept about managing plexignore, I also don't specifically walk the directory manually, it is explicitly using Plex's own API for file discovery

VideoFiles.Scan(path, files, mediaList, subdirs, root)

I am not sure what can be done, as I have seen others discuss on discord about using a .plexignore that works fine.

Does that also include entries that are already in plex? Did the people reporting that it worked have the .plexignore file in the directory before scanning for the first time? In my case I did not have the ignore file in the directory, scanned and it got added to plex, then later I added the ignore file and then scanned. What it should do is then remove the entry from plex. That is what happens when I tried it with a TV show not managed by Shoko. In the case of the movie managed by Shoko, the entry was still there after the scan. Did the people who said it worked also test it with movies vs series?

This was for specifically fixing some caching issues within plex, so the items would have already been identified

If you do not know what is happening I will try first moving the files, scanning and then putting them back with the ignore file to see if it still adds it.

So, after moving the file and manually deleting the entry from plex, then moving the files back again, plex this time ignored the movie. What was weird was that even after I moved the files and scanned, Plex did not remove the entry. It just said "unavailable" on the entry. I have the setting "Empty trash automatically after every scan" so it should have deleted the entry (which it does do with normal series and movies). Maybe with a custom scanner the setting "Empty trash automatically after every scan" does not get used?

With Plex there is so little up to date documentation I have no clue.
