So just a few remarks/minor suggestions:
- Let's give the password file the .php file suffix. This will prevent Apache from serving it up as plain text (in case .htaccess protection ever fails).
- For extra security, I'd recommend moving this file outside the web directory altogether. Assuming that Pantheon allows deployment above the web root. This should ensure that this file is never exposed directly to the web, no matter how mis-configured the web server may be.
- Going forward, we could make the path to the password file a configuration option of the edudu_github module, rather than specifying its path in settings.php. Not sure if we would need this much flexibility actually, but thought i put it out there.
